Spring time....

Well actually its Autumn, but who cares when you can get these suckers for about $8 each - i'm hoping to use them for the suspension to my hard tail chop, and the custom seat (which i dont have yet, nor have ordered, nor have money for) but the ycoul dlook sweet, but on the other hand may be too modern, another trip to photoshop may solve this problem.

Wrecked....Nov 2006

So i got bored with my lack of progress, so trusty spanner in hand i took some gear of the bike, exhaust, seat, rear wheel, took brakes apart, took carb off to clean it, battery off to charge, its now in a very sorry looking state and i'm still no closer to finding out if it'll run.

Bench o Work....Oct 2006

Yep - amazing the hands that broke many a floorboard, put nails through a water pipe, and left most jobs around the house at 80% complete, did manage to build this beautiful work bench for the princely sum of about $50 (Home Depot did forget to change me for the metal sheeting that forms the top)

Still, I was really satified with my first biker builder work bench build off and it can only bode well for future creations.

I love Photoshop...October 2006

One of the guys on jockey Journal was looking for some ideas for a paint job on his bike, so i put in a greulling 20 minutes work and came up with this - its rough, but its got potential.

A grinder a day...15 Aug 2006

...careful use does indeed keep the doctor away - the fender was already falling off and it was the perfect excuse to go to out and buy a Grinder plus a cutting wheel and a polishing wheel. I figured it cant be that hard and its not, just flippin' noisy - neighbors love it.
If you haven't yet figured it out, I'm retro blogging here, this is stuff that happened in August this year, but i wanted to add it as much for my sake as yours; this way i keep a track on how excruciatingly slow this projects going to go!

Black is the new erm...Aug 2nd 2006

Yep - here it is, the brick is a nice touch dont you think? So some details:

Engine: 1973 Triumph Tiger
Fork: Girder
Wheels: Front 21 inch, Read 16 inch
Nothing much else special yet, custom Cobb intake with side draft carb
Rear Fender: Broken :)

The start of a Long Journey....Aug 1st 2006

Hi, I'll give you a little background on me; after riding motorcycles for years and then moving from England to Raleigh in North Carolina to work for Epic Games (just released Gears of War for the Xbox 360 - plug over) i got hooked on Biker Builder Off and the goof balls on American Chopper.
Summer came and went and losing a little interest in riding my Ducati 900SSFE, I figured i needed something else in my life, something that was a little more creative and not on a computer. Like any self respecting person i did the EBay thing and ended up buying some old chopper that i knew absolutely nothing about but had every intention of becoming my own master builder (no, i know its a very very long shot) - as the only tools i had was on old hammer and a monkey wrench :)
Well, the newest addition to the family arrived in a heck of a huge transport! www.enclosedvehicletransport.com brought the bike down from New Jersey and it arrived on time and with no damage.
Its more of a rolling basket case than anything else, it looks like it would run, it had lots of pieces missing and lots of really nasty weld that look like they were made by a blind monkey :)
